is an arts organisation whose central goal is to facilitate cultural exchanges between Latin America and the U.K., and showcase progressive and unique work. By programming a diverse spectrum of work made by artists based in Latin America, as well as those of Latin American heritage based in the U.K., the CASA stage sheds light on theatre, dance, music and film that might otherwise be left unseen by U.K. audiences.
Founded in 2007 by Daniel Goldman, CASA has presented nine festivals supporting hundreds of productions by Latinx writers, directors and performers. The word "casa" means home in Spanish and in Portuguese. In twelve years, we have built an internationally reknowned hub for Latin American cuture in the U.K.
The 10th edition of CASA will be the first festival under the creative leadership of Artistic Director Cordelia Grierson, expanding CASA's focus from theatre to multi-disciplinary arts.
Cordelia was born in Yorkshire and grew up between Mexico City and the UK. Her carrer has been focused on fashion, cinema and Latin American theatre. She has worked at Time out Mexico City and as a documentary assistant in Rio de Janeiro. After volenterring at six CASA Festivals and two years as CASA Festival producer, she became the new artistic director. Her curatorial focus is on interdisciplinary creations along with dance, theatre, music and films.
